sitecue ("we," "our," or "the extension") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

1. Information We Collect

To provide you with our services, we only collect the following information:

Email Address & Authentication Data: Collected when you sign in (including social logins like Google or GitHub) for account creation and authentication.
User-Generated Content (Notes): The text content of the notes you create using the extension.
Note Metadata (URLs): When you create a note, we securely store the specific URL or domain associated with that note. We do not track your general browsing history. We only collect the URL of the page where you explicitly leave a note.
Guest Mode Data (Local Only): If you use the extension in Guest Mode (without signing in), all your notes and settings are stored strictly in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). This data is never sent to or stored on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely for the following purposes:

To manage and authenticate your user account.
To securely store and sync your context-aware notes across your devices using a cloud database.
To automatically display your saved notes when you revisit the specific URLs or domains associated with them.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information, browsing data, or note data to outside parties.

Note: We use a secure backend service (Supabase) exclusively for authentication and data storage.

4. Data Security

Your data is securely protected. Access to the database is strictly limited to the authenticated user who created the notes, enforced by Row Level Security (RLS) policies. No other users can access your notes.

5. Data Access and Deletion

You can uninstall the extension at any time. If you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated data, please contact us using the information below.
